Sci-Fi Movie Example

Within this particular opening, the main character that is represented is Trinity. The part that hooks the most is the fight that ensues between Trinity and the police as well as the chase scene, where she leaps across a building.

Something I noticed about the cameras framing is that she is put to the center of the screen in most of the scenes with a close up to show her emotions and or to emphasize that she is better than the others. The only other time someone gets emphasized like this is the agents, as well as the policeman that first encountered Trinity.

The mise-en-scene shows that it is a mysterious hotel that is abandoned yet has a computer and many policemen coming to apprehend one woman. Since it is so dark and filled with shadows, it conveys a sense of confusion, as the audience also does not know why the police or agents are after her. Later, in the phone call, there is an overlayed voice of another person who is named Morpheus. 

The opening credits show that it is based around technology and is more sci-fi-ish since the camera actually enters the text that is in the computer to appear in what is assumedly another dimension. Then it cuts to a flashlight being held by a policeman about to raid her room. This obviously cannot happen, and teleportation suggests once again, a sci-fi movie.
